The COFA Library databases consist of indexes created in-house over the years to improve access to library resources. They complement AustArt, an index of Australian art journals held in the COFA Library since 1987.
Video/DVD Index
Indexes over 3,000 titles to works on or by thousands of local and international artists, designers and video/filmmakers; arranged under artist, title and subject and held in the collection of the COFA Library on either videocassette or DVD
Audio/CD Index
Indexes hundreds of musicians, mostly international by artist's name and title of work, and encompassing mainly experimental music and sound art held in the collection of the COFA Library
Audio-cassette Index
Searchable by artist, title and subject are over 1,700 artists and topics, both local and international, indexed from the audio-cassette collection held in the COFA Library.
Compact Disc-Interactive Index
Indexes both local and international artists and designers, including digital media artists, arranged under artist, title and subject on CD-Rom held in the collection of the COFA Library.
Newspaper Articles
Clippings from Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian plus a range of other local newspapers on art, applied arts and design. Produced by COFA Library from 1988 to date. For consultation in the library.
Ephemera File
Index of exhibition leaflets, cards and pamphlets arranged under artists, galleries and subjects. Produced by COFA Library from 1994 to date. For consultation in the library.
Search strategies
- Terms are not case sensitive, hence all keywords can be entered in lower case.
- Click on one or more of the boxes at the top of the page to select the database/s that you want to search. More than one database can be searched simultaneously.
- Searching with a single keyword e.g. dadaism - leave the default match on Any word.
- Searching for more than one keyword e.g. russian suprematism - choose the match All words.
- Searching for an exact name or title e.g. arthur boyd - choose the match Exact phrase.
- You can exclude keywords, for example, searching for postmodernism, but not australian, enter australian in Excluded keywords.
