Sessional Staff are an invaluable part of the learning and teaching community at COFA. COFA is committed to making your teaching experience as rewarding and fulfilling as possible.
At the beginning of the academic year, COFA has a welcome and orientation for all sessional staff. This is an opportunity to meet key Faculty staff and support people, other sessional staff, and to learn about the support available to you.
An information folder with information especially for sessional staff is available at the Welcome and Orientation Session and from the office of the Associate Dean (Academic): Room B110 or +61 2 9385 0773. This has a wide variety of information, from parking procedures, how to get paid, key contacts and teaching advice and support.
A series of workshops is also offered to sessional staff, focussing on learning and teaching. In 2006 these workshops dealt with how to facilitate small group teaching, working with course outlines, and assessment strategies.
A forum has also been set up for sessional staff. It is a great resource and a useful way to keep in contact with fellow sessional staff. It is a hidden forum. To read or post to the forum, go to COFA Forums, log in (located in top right hand corner) using your COFA pass, then email adaassistant@cofa.unsw.edu.au. Please note that after logging in for the first time, you will not gain access until you have sent this email. Once you have been given access, you will be notified and you can log in and post to the forum.
