Introductory Profile:
Sylvia Ross teaches in the areas of sculpture and installation. Her interests traverse ancient and contemporary earthworks, sculpture, installation and the body as well as texts in works of art. Sylvia’s own practice is often text-based, referencing social and political themes. As a strong supporter of reconciliation and human rights, her main interests are in the areas of indigenous ‘ visibility’ and issues of nationalism and the cultural hierarchy that it generates.
