Dr Steve Clark is the Academic Fellow at COFA, an artist, designer and composer.
He completed a PhD at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning, The University of
Sydney.
His research covers a cross-disciplinary framework of New Media Art, Design Computing and
Cognition, and Art and Design Education. His research focuses on the impact of Human-Computer
Interaction, the Phenomena of a sense of place and the Design of physical and virtual spaces to
create senses of place.
His current research studies the design of sound art installations and sound sculptures using
the embodiment of sound to create a sense of place. This research involves interviewing leading
Australian artists on their creative approaches to designing sound art installations and sound
sculptures.
His research has been published and presented nationally and internationally including Oxford
University and Edinburgh University.
Steve is an accomplished composer and music performer touring and recording extensively
throughout Australia, Europe and USA. His compositions have charted in the ARIA top 40 and ABC-JJJ
radio Top 100.
During January 2009, will tour nationally playing the
big day out 2009 with
Died Pretty.
