Lynne Roberts-Goodwin’s photographic works reference the genres of geographic and anthropological image making, while challenging some of the scientific and documentary conventions of those genres. Her current research, spanning three Continental Deserts (in Libya, Australia, and the USA), explores border territories impacted by political, and cultural pressures. It has included photographing desert falconry for the late United Arab Emirates Ruler, Sheikh Zayed Al-Nayan, vultures and falcons in Pakistan and India, wild goats and camels in Jordan and the goat farmers in Southern Lebanon. Supported by an Australia Council Grant, Lynne conducted extensive research along the ancient Frankincense Trade Route.
