Graham Forsyth’s ongoing teaching and writing practice is engaged with contemporary art and its interfaces with cultural and social forms. Graham’s most recent major writing, Flight Research Spin on the work of Rosemary Laing addressed Laing’s work in the context of its political and ethical engagement and the way in which it works in late 20th century charged multicultural environment. The interactions between a photographic practice as Laing’s and the everyday discourse remain to be further investigated but helped propel him towards this research project. Graham has done a great deal of research into the areas of art, design and everyday life. He will be co-editing a book of essays on everyday life and contemporary visual culture (to be published 2007).
