That Taoism may underlie contemporary, intercultural artworks from countries such as China and Vietnam has received little attention from commentators discussing the insights found in art that has its origins in, or quotations from, Asian cultural practices and philosophy. Bonita Bonita Ely plans to analyse the works of artists whose countries of origin have deeply rooted Taoist beliefs to reveal Taoist concepts as integral to their structure. In Bonita's art practice she aims to explore an embodied integration of the viewer using Taoist analysis as a catalyst for advances in the field of inter cultural art. Improvisation of imagery is of particular interest re: Taoist calligraphic art.
