Arianne Rourke’s research within the discipline of design education, tests the hypothesis that effectively designed work examples can be used to assist learners to acquire domain specific schemas for identifying distinctive characteristics of a designer’s work. This is placed within the context of visual literacy, visual memory and Cognitive Load Theory.
