COFA staff and artist Dennis del Favero has an upcoming show at boutwell draper gallery, entitled Forgetful Sky. Del Favero utilises photography and video to evoke the ways in which memory and inter-dependency, like pentimenti, endure beyond attempts to destroy them. Pentimenti, a term used in art conservation, refers to the visible trace of an earlier painting beneath a layer of paint on a canvas typically found during restoration or x-ray. His work is particularly interested in such 'hauntings', i.e. how memories and inter-dependencies, like pentimenti, reveal themselves as involuntary expressions of the past in the present, enveloping the relationships between ourselves and our world.

When: 29 October - 21 November 2009  |   Opening night: Thursday 29 October 6 - 8 pm
