Richard Goodwin celebrates the completion of three new public art projects in Sydney and Canberra. The Cope Street Parasite in Redfern, Waterjacket in Pitt Street Sydney and Rhizome in Gungahlin Extension Drive ACT.
Rhizome is a sculptural installation in steel “I” beams which marks the beginning of this new
freeway extension. As a sculpture it forms the first of Goodwin’s exploded structure on a large
scale. Inspired by the local grasses the work also speaks to its context during the day and at
night when lit.
