To introduce a program or course, or to revise a program or course, the relevant proposal form must
be completed and firstly approved by the Faculty Education Committee (FEC).
The proposer must email the completed proposal to their School's FEC representative who will
submit it for inclusion on the agenda. All consultation with colleagues within and outside of
your School must be documented on the proposal form in the space allowed in detail. You may
also attach written copies of such correspondence, such as emails. For new courses and courses with
a major revision, please also download and fill in the OH&S form, after referring to the
OH&S information.
If the proposal is approved by the FEC, it must then be approved by the Standing
Committee. And for programs, following the Standing Committee, approval must be sought by the
Undergraduate Studies Committee or Postgraduate Studies Committee and then the Academic Board.
Please check with your FEC representative or Head of School as to when to submit your
proposal.
The Course Proposal and Course Revision forms are interactive PDFs - that is, you can fill
them out on your computer. Be sure to download them to your computer first, then open them in
Adobe Acrobat; this allows you to save changes (opening them using Preview does not allow this).
This saves paper and allows you to distribute forms by email easily.
