The UNSW Assessment Policy incorporates existing policy, such as the Student Academic Grievance
policy and freedom of access to assessment information, and includes changes in areas such as
anonymous assessment, pass with distinction and academic standing.
A University award certifies that a student has demonstrated his or her
understanding of what has been learned at a standard commensurate with that expected of the holder
of the qualification for which the student has been enrolled. Assessment is integral to this
certification procedure.
The University is committed to providing valid and reliable assessment information, in
accord with standards in which students, potential employers and accrediting bodies can have
confidence.
