COFA Academic Staff Travel Grants
Grants are awarded to academic staff on a competitive basis for travel to research related
conferences and events. More information can be found in the
Guidelines

Faculty Research Grants (FRG) and Early Career Research (ECR)
Grants
The College of Fine Arts and UNSW supports the research activities of early career
researchers and established researchers through the FRG and ECR grant programs. More
information can be found in the Guidelines. Application Forms should be submitted to the FRMC

ARC (Australian Research Council) Grants
The ARC supports the highest quality research and research training through national
competition in all fields of science, social sciences and the humanities. Details can be
found on the

UNSW International Fellowship Program
UNSW offers four International Fellowship programs. These programs provide staff with
development opportunities to strengthen links between UNSW and selected global research-intensive
universities. For more information on these programs, go to

Contestable Funding
Contestable Funding is aimed at supporting initiatives such as staff or student exchanges,
joint research projects, profile raising seminars or public events, or joint program development
and delivery. Funds are distributed annually by the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor
(International and Development).
Research Infrastructure Block Grant (RIBG)
RIBG funds are strategically utilised by the College to support significant research
infrastructure within the Faculty, for example, the purchase of equipment, employment of research
staff or research workshops. Bids are annually requested by the Dean for consideration by the Dean’s
Working Group and the Faculty Research Management Committee.
