The College of Fine Arts recognises its obligations under the NSW Occupational Health and Safety
Act 2000 and related legislation and is committed to providing a safe, healthy and secure learning
and working environment for all students, staff, contractors and visitors.
COFA is bound by the UNSW Occupational Health and Safety Policy and adopts all the OHS
Policies, Programs and Guidelines developed by the UNSW OHS and Workers Compensation Unit.
Furthermore, the College follows all the procedures and processes outlined in the UNSW Corporate
OHS Management System in an effort to meet its OH&S obligations.
COFA is committed to providing the highest standard of Occupational Health and Safety
[OH&S]. This will be achieved in the first instance through the establishment of a Faculty
Workplace Safety Committee to assist COFA management in the development of a safe working
environment with safe working practices. In addition, COFA will achieve continued improvement in
terms of OH&S outcomes through its adoption and review of this OH&S Management System
(OHSMS).
