Each year Object's new design exhibition reveals the hottest design talent across the country. This graduate show promotes the work of exceptional young designers and offers two awards for the most outstanding works on display:
Object Award for Design for Manufacture and Object Award for Studio Based Practice.

new design 2005 showcases a unique collection of work designed to amaze and inspire.
Five recent COFA graduates are featured amongst the 16 finalists:

Amy Cunningham
Benjamin Mangold
Daniel Weisz

This year's panel of judges includes: Steven Pozel (Director, Object), David Clark (Editor, Vogue Living), Lesley Jackson (UK Curator, Design Historian), Bic Tieu (Designer, new design 2003 award winner) and Frank Howarth (Director, Australian Museum).

new design 2005 will showcase 16 finalists selected from a list of graduates nominated by university lecturers from visual art, applied art and industrial design courses around Australia.
