"A broken camera, a hairless doll, a pair of old boots...One person's trash is another person's treasure! Two venues, a clothesline and a compelling collection of junk..."

Students of COFA's Associate Professor Alan Krell have created an unusual interactive event as part of their 'The Production of Art' course in the School of Art History and Theory.

Taking on the challenge given by Professor Krell to explore the status of junk and the spaces it occupies in western society Waste of Space will take place for one night only across two venues that will be linked via a clothesline, guiding viewers from Spacejunk, located at South Dowling Street, Darlinghurst, to the Ivan Dougherty Gallery at the College of Fine Arts.

An assortment of intimate and personal objects and photographs will be presented for viewing on the evening concluding with a garage sale installation at the Ivan Dougherty Gallery.

Waste of Space Wednesday 2 November 2005, 6 - 8pm.

Ivan Dougherty Gallery is situated within the College of Fine Arts - corner of Oxford Street and Greens Road, Paddington.

Spacejunk is located at 323 South Dowling Street, Darlinghurst.
