On April 7 COFA UNSW, in conjunction with the Heimo Zobernig Project at ARTSPACE and David
Pestorius Projects, will host a symposium and film screening dedicated to exploring the
significance of Conceptual Art for critical modes of contemporary art practice.
The symposium
CONCEPTUAL ART LEGACIES? (co-ordinated by COFA’s School of Art History & Theory)
commences at 3pm and will be held in the College’s lecture theatre (EGO2) located in the Paddington
campus and will feature presentations by:
• COFA lecturer Susan Best, on the art of Theresa Hak Kyung Cha
• Gallerist and Curator, David Pestorius, on the art of Heimo Zobernig
• COFA lecturer Toni Ross, on the art of Mark Dion
and
• Sydney based artist Tony Schwensen - topic to be confirmed
The symposium will be followed by a special one night only screening of German art critic and
artist Stefan Römer’s documentary:
CONCEPTUAL PARADISE: THERE IS A PLACE FOR SOPHISTICATION
The film screening commences at 6pm, also in EGO2
• Stefan Römer will answer questions from the audience after the screening.
Admission to both the Symposium and Film screening is FREE.

Rd. Enter via the Greens Rd gate and follow the signs.
