COFA graduate Sam Smith is an artist who is interested in special effects. Growing up during the
time when special effects jumped leaps and bounds, more specifically the 80's and 90's, Smith's
past works have critiqued
cinemagraphic tools such as green screens as slime and giant plywood movie cameras. Smith's
current exhibition at GRANTPIRRIE gallery, titled Special Effects, explores space, or the void of
space and Yves Klein, through the medium of film and special effects. Has your interest been
sparked? Head down to the gallery to check it out!
