In his lecture, Travel, Romance and Adventure, Ross Wolfe will discuss the Anne and Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarships which have enabled 116 promising Australian artists to study overseas since 1992. Established by the millionaire American artist, Gordon Samstag, the scholarships are internationally renowned and are considered a passport to rapid success in the professional visual arts, for those fortunate enough to receive one.

Ross Wolfe is Director of the University of South Australia’s Samstag Program. He has worked extensively as an administrator in the areas of cultural funding, publishing and art museum management, in a wide-ranging career touching most parts of the professional visual arts. He is a graduate of Alexander Mackie CAE (now COFA) and has a Master of Arts in Fine Art from RMIT University.
