According to M. A. Greenstein, the 21st century is being defined by a breathless race to understand
the role of the evolving human brain and peripheral nervous system in all matters of human
experience and consciousness. For the artist and designer, the race beckons our pattern recognition
and somatic attention for it is here that we enter the "neuroaesthetic" discussion of systems
orchestration, mirror neurons and neuroplasticity: three areas of specific and whole brain function
that hold tremendous potential for reckoning with the mysteries of aesthetic perception and the
brain/mind/body connection.
A long time student of brain-mind-body science, Greenstein now dedicates her time to
fostering the global field of neuro-aesthetics. She is an internationally recognized art and
somatic theorist.
