Parthenogenesis (or virgin birth) as a metaphor for aspects of current cultural production, presupposes that the work of art generates itself free of fertilization from the social body. This exhibition looks at the performance of gender and the specific genre of installation, which evokes shopping as a means of incorporating the viewer as co-author.
