This exhibition shows new work by emerging and established artists from Papunya Tjupi who are behind a move to establish a community art centre in Papunya. Highlights include the work of well known Senior Papunya artists Michael Jagamara Nelson, Long Jack Phillipus Tjakamarra and William Sandy, who have been instrumental in the drive to establish the new art centre. It will feature major paintings by individual Papunya artists and also a series of large collaborative works in which the senior artists' desire to pass on their knowledge of both Aboriginal Law and painting techniques to the younger artists will be given expression. Works will be for sale, providing a rare opportunity to purchase the first works from the new artists' group, with full proceeds going directly to the artists.
