Liberation Feet reflects how drawing in China has developed since it was released from the confines of the academic tradition in the late 20th century. New and imaginative approaches to drawing still retain their emphasis on skill while exploring imagery that expresses a society in a state of dynamic change and uncertainty. Drawings of the 'body' act as a metaphors, for both the personal and political, public and private - works which deal with personal narratives or social commentary.
