Proposing an Exhibition at COFAspace
Submissions
Due to the large number of enquiries COFAspace receives, a structured application procedure has
been developed to assist students and staff in applying for use of the COFAspace. These procedures reflect standard submission
requirements of other exhibition spaces and will ensure that proposals can be addressed in a fair
and timely manner.
Exhibition proposals are granted on the validity of the project, the strength of the connection
of the project to Cofa, Lecturer involvement, and the date of application.
Exhibitions are generally granted for a week, with installations scheduled for Mondays and
de-installations taking place Friday afternoons.
Proposals are accepted all year and must include:
- a cover letter with lecturer/student’s contact details (name, address, phone, email)
- a one page statement detailing the content, subject, conceptual underpinning and material form
and installation requirements of the intended work
- a signed statement from a lecturer/supervisor confirming their involvement and the proposed
exhibitions relation to cofa supporting visual material in the form of 35mm slides, CD-rom, DVD or
if applying online, a jpeg
- a signed statement confirming the proposed exhibitor(s) understands the galleries rules and
regulations, completed a safety exhibition checklist, reviewed the galleries floor plan (all 3
documents are available online) are prepared to staff the exhibit, and will be available to install
on the Monday and de-install and return the gallery to its prior standard by 5 pm on the
Friday
