Description


This course covers elementary aspects of digital audio production. Students will be introduced to technical and structural skills to develop one short audio work over a three day period. Protools hard disk recording; sound editing and mixing; digital recording; and microphone use; an introduction to rhythmical structures and basic elements of synthesis will be covered in this course.

Panos Couros

Tutor Information:

Panos Couros has been working in sound for over 20 years. His main artistic focus has been sound design / composition for theatre, dance, multi-media, installation art and for the corporate world. His sound work has been widely exhibited in major contemporary art galleries around the world. He has been teaching at COFA for the past 5 years.

Materials Required:

Read the General Information on Material Suppliers page.  

COFA uses Protools software, Mac computers, and DAT or hard disc recorders.

STUDENTS TO SUPPLY
Students are advised to discuss with their teachers how they should best record their materials.

It is recommended that students bring their own hard drives.
