Description

This practical course will cover the purposes of documenting our artworks and what you will need to do it well.

DAY ONE    
Explaining and demonstrating how and when to use the required equipment:
Camera, Tripod, Cable release, Gray card, Light meter, Copystand, Extras (black card, difuser and reflective materials, hanging tools and accessories), Lights, Slide film, and Filters.
Bring in small two-dimensional artworks (up to A3 size) for Copystand method.
The course will provide necessary equipment and film for demonstration only.

DAY TWO   
Photographing 2D and 3D artworks in our set-up room - bring in one or two works. Focus is on where you might be photographing the work- gallery installation, outdoor installation, setting a room.  It will also cover Light sources,  Reflections, Camera Lenses, and Evaluating results from Copystand work.

DAY THREE
Photographing 2D and 3D artworks in our set-up room. Bring in one or two works.  Evaluating results from our set-up of previous day.

Included in this course will be information on digital image portfolios: how to prepare, adapt and present your images for digital or print outcomes, transferring digital image to analogue transparencies and vice versa.   Actual print outcomes are not included.

Caterina Pacialeo is a photomedia artist. She is currently teaching at St George TAFE and Digital Photography at Meadowbank TAFE.

Materials List for Photographing your Artwork
It is advisable to bring in your camera – the university takes no responsibility for loss or damage.
Day one: Bring in small two-dimensional artworks up to A3 size.
Days two and three: Bring in one or two works for photographing 2D and 3D artworks
