Description

This course explores approaches to drawing the human figure, predominantly from life. Male or female nude models will be the subject of your drawing. At the end of the week you will have a folio of many drawings that will show increased skill and understanding in both observational and interpretative drawing and the relationship between image and process. This will provide a valuable platform for major works or a further series of drawings.

Friday January 23.  The course concludes with a 1 hour exhibition from 12-1pm of the students’ work, followed at 1pm with a short ceremony at which the Dean, Professor Ian Howard, awards certificates to students.

Tutor:

Stavros Papantoniou

Tutor Information:

Stavros Panantoniou, has undertaken intensive study and research in figurative drawing and has exhibited widely. He is a highly respected artist, skilled draughtsman, and teacher.

Testimonial:

Great teacher, thorough examples given which motivated with confidence Stavros was a very approachable and knowledgeable teacher The teacher and models were outstanding and greater understanding of art practice was gained. I wouldn’t condemn this course as ‘fun’, however (it) is definitely a necessity for all artists and all those who seek a future in art. It improves skills and the teacher definitely improved the experiences. Great course, many thanks….loved the class, I learnt so much.
