COFA Short Courses are presented in several packages:
1. Evening and Saturday Classes
Autumn and Spring Programs are mainly held in the evenings or on Saturdays during academic
sessions. They are suitable for those who enjoy classes over a longer period.
2. Weekday Classes
Summer and Winter Programs are held Mondays to Fridays during the day within the university
and school vacation periods. These programs are suitable for people who prefer intensive modes of
learning, and for those living outside of Sydney.
NOTE: there are some weekday classes in the Spring 2008 Program.
COFA Short Courses are ideal for:
- the general public
- tertiary and HSC students
- designers
- media artists
- art historians
- art educators
The UNSW COFA Continuing Education courses are non-accredited and therefore participants do
not receive formal assessment and UNSW Units of Credit. All participants who satisfactorily
complete the course receive a UNSW ‘Certificate of Completion” signed by the Dean of the College of
Fine Arts.
The full list of Spring courses currently on offer is on the downloadable

New Initiatives
COFA Continuing Education has teamed with
COFA
Online ~enrich
to encourage students from a workshop environment to undertake further studies online, and
vice versa. Whilst both programs are open to the general public, some specific courses have
been selected to enable you to pay for one course, then be entitled to a 10% discount on the
complementary course in the other program. See details on the course outlines of Drawing &
Painting for Design, Poster Design, Shibori and Felting.
Continuing Education students can now participate in the academic
General Education courses if there are vacancies. The
UNSW COFA Continuing Education courses are non-accredited and therefore their participants in “
General Education” subjects do not receive formal assessment and UNSW Units of Credit. Apart
from this the experience will be exactly the same as for an undergraduate student and you will be
issued with a UNSW ‘Certificate of Completion” as per above. There are a limited number of places
in General Education courses for Continuing Education students, so if initially you are unable to
gain a place, we will put your name on a wait-list, because places frequently become available
before classes start.
