Description
The Visual Culture PhD promotes research into the role of the visual and the aesthetic in contemporary culture. It encourages examination of visual and aesthetic experience, and exploration of the social, political and cultural dimensions of all forms of art, design, media and visual culture.
Expert supervision is available in contemporary visual cultural theories, as well as in combinations of theory with art, new media, design, curatorial and exhibition practice, and in specific cultural contexts, including Aboriginal and regional cultures. Thesis submissions may comprise a purely written dissertation or a combination of writing and practice.
