Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to promote the
creativity of mature age Australian artists by providing financial assistance to visit centres of
artistic relevance in Europe, such as galleries and museums.
Eligibility: COFA students enrolled full-time in either
year 3 or 4 of their Undergraduate degree; or students enrolled full-time in a Coursework Masters
program who have completed at least 1 full-time semester of their program.
Residency requirement: Australian citizens or permanent
residents
Amount: $10,000
Tenure: 1 year
Selection criteria: Each applicant will be assessed on the
basis of academic merit, aptitude and commitment to the preferred program of study, talent and
reasons for undertaking the program of study.
Applicants must submit details regarding their proposed study/travel plan to visit centres of
artistic relevance in Europe, such as galleries and museums and must also outline the benefit the
opportunity for travel will bring to their learning.
Please note that:
• Applicants may be asked to attend an interview;
• The successful applicant will be required to submit a written report to
COFA at the completion of the scholarship;
• The Scholarship will be paid in a lump sum. The selected recipient
will be required to show evidence of their proposed travel before payment of the scholarship;
• The Scholarship recipient should not normally hold any other Scholarship
or Award except with the permission of the Selection Committee.
