UNSW uses very specific terms to describe aspects of its academic administration. Understanding
this terminology will assist you in successfully navigating the essential online resources and help
you to communicate effectively with the University. Below are some basic terms that you should

The University of New South Wales provides comprehensive online services to assist students in
administrating their candidature. The following web resources will help you to get started.
You can enrol, search for classes, pay your fees, view your results/ academic transcript, check your graduation status and update your personal details through your student profile on myUNSW.
You can view your programs rules, structure and requirements through the UNSW Online Handbook. You can also view course descriptions and download the course outline for many courses on this handbook.
The UNSW Class Timetable website gives you quick access to timetable information (please note that there is a 24-hour time lag).
UniMail is your personal UNSW email. All official University correspondence will be sent to this address. For example, notices re release of results, enrolment start dates, cancellation of classes, etc are sent to your University email account. It is highly essential that you check it regularly. A UniMail account is created automatically on enrolment and is assigned a default address based on your Student ID number (eg. z1234567@student.unsw.edu.au). You can easily redirect your student email to your regular email account by going to UNSW Online Services and Support website and following the instructions under the UniMail - UNSW Email System section.
