The University’s requirements for General Education are the same for all single degree programs.
You must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 12 units of credit in a General Education Courses or
equivalent. Any course at UNSW that is not offered by COFA can be considered
to meet the General Education component of a COFA program. This includes
language courses and electives offered by other faculties in which COFA students are
permitted to enrol.
If you are enrolled in a combined degree, offered with another faculty - leading to the award
of two degrees, then you do not have to do any General Education Courses.
Further information about the University’s General Education program and course descriptions
are available in the UNSW Online Handbook.
Commencing S2 2008, COFA students must complete all their General Education requirements
outside the faculty and are no longer permitted to enrol in any COFA General Education
courses.
