Cosmopolitan, vibrant and multicultural, the City of Sydney is made up of a series of localities,
each with its own unique character. COFA is situated on the corner of Oxford St and Greens Rd in
the heart of Paddington, one of Sydney’s most dynamic suburbs.
Paddington is a mecca for shoppers in search of antiques, books, designer fashion items,
gifts, homewares, deli goods and fresh food, and is well known for its markets, National Trust
listed Victorian architecture and for the many art galleries on the northern side of Oxford Street.
South of Oxford Street is the Moore Park precinct, which contains the famous Sydney Cricket
Ground and Aussie Stadium, two of Sydney’s great sporting grounds, and Fox Studios, a popular
dining, shopping and entertainment complex.
The Australian Centre for Photography is located on Oxford Street, as are two art house
cinemas - all within walking distance of COFA.
Darlinghurst and Surry Hills, two inner city suburbs that are both home to many art and
design studios, inlcuding Object Gallery, are also within easy walking distance of COFA as is the
The Central Business District on beautiful Sydney harbour and The Art Gallery of New South Wales.
A short drive or free shuttle bus ride takes COFA students from our Paddington site to the
main UNSW campus located in Kensington.
