Printmaking | The College of Fine Arts
Etching of a cat and toy
Cat Cat Karolina Novak, 2005, Drypoint Etching

Printmaking at COFA facilitates creativity through manipulation of the medium that includes:

  •  etching
  •  lithography
  •  relief printing
  •  screen printing
  •  photo-mechanical procedures
    (photo and laser copying)
  •  paper technology
    (cast and moulded paper)
  •  presentation techniques.

The primary concern at COFA is to contextualise the visual and theoretical elements of Printmaking within the context of contemporary art practice. Printmaking, in this expanded context, leaves COFA students free to create unique pieces through the process and application of the medium without the tyranny of the multiple or the pressure to construct a repeatable matrix that churns out identical pieces.

Printmaking at COFA can be studied at these levels:

  • Undergraduate
  • Post Graduate
  • Research
