Photomedia at COFA is concerned with the issues of analogue and digital image production within the
context of national and international contemporary visual arts practice.
Emphasis is placed on conceptual and practical investigations through specific projects
designed to promote the acquisition of technical skills and foster critical, individual
interpretations in addition to conceptual and aesthetic development.
Photomedia provides students with an expanding view of the different approaches to the
expression and realisation of their concepts through analogue, digital and interdisciplinary
techniques and processes.
The photomedia curriculum constantly responds to innovations, concepts and emerging
technologies as expressive and integral tools.
Photomedia is strongly focused towards the post-graduate programmes and research within the
areas of photographic and digital integrated media within a critical contemporary art context.
