Big Pineapple painting by Anna Kristensen

Painting at COFA is interpreted broadly in terms of media and approach and is underpinned by the understanding that the techniques and methodologies of painting, as a field of practice, are a living continuum from the traditional to the contemporary.

Painting studies cover historical and contemporary concepts and techniques in the context of contemporary practice, allowing for a broad range of creative approaches and interpretations from non-objective to figurative, representational to installation as well as supporting inter-disciplinary collaborations.

At COFA individual approaches and explorations to the art of painting are encouraged.

Painting at COFA can be studied at these levels:

  • Undergraduate
