Susan is an animator and motion designer with over ten years of experience in the film and television industry. She is an animation script assessor for the Australian Writer’s Guild and has been on the selection panel for Screen NSW funding grants.
Her recent motion design projects includes the re-design of the SBS Channel logos and overall channel refresh (2011) and contributing to the roll-out of the Disney Junior rebrand in Australia (2011).
As director/animator, her most recent work is a 10-part animated interstitial series titled “Heirlooms” which was funded by Screen Australia and SBS. This series received the Best TV Series award at BAF (2010) and has screened at numerous festivals including the Annecy International Animation Festival. Her previous films include “Mother Tongue” (Screen Australian funded production) which received a number of awards as well as an AFI nomination for Best Animation (2003); "Amine" an SBS Commission animated documentary; and student films "The Bronze Mirror" 2007, "Shadowplay" 1999 and "Driving Home" 1999 which have all received awards and travelled extensively at festivals.
Susan has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery (animated self-portrait exhibition); Australian Centre for the Moving Image (Australian Culture Now); The 4th Gwangju Biennale, South Korea (Seeing There – Diasporic Sites); and the Smithsonian Institute USA (Animated Shorts Down-Under – An Australian Retrospective).
Susan has a keen interest in the area of the graphic novel and literary adaptations in animation.
