Atanas Djonov is a Bulgarian-born, Sydney-based video artist.
In 1994 he completed a Graduate Diploma in Video Production at the College of Journalism and Mass Communication at Sofia University.
In 2002 he graduated with a Bachelor's degree with Honours Class I in Fine Arts (Time-Based Art) from the College of Fine Arts, University of NSW.
In 2012 he received his PhD (School of Media Arts, COFA, UNSW) for his new media video installation work Compass II (2003-2010) and thesis Navigating Viewers: Montage, Space and Meta-art in New Media Video Installation.
His art practice incorporates a variety of different forms such as video installation art, sound, animation and photography.
