Off Campus Housing

Shared Accommodation

Usually a single room (furnished or unfurnished) in a flat or house often shared with other students. Average rent per room is $140-$200 per week. Other expenses are usually shared.

Full Board

Usually a furnished room and use of facilities in a private home (often with a family). Breakfast and dinner are provided and sometimes lunch. Average cost is $190-$250 per week including all expenses.

Leasing a Property

Rent will vary depending on size and location. For a 1 bedroom flat average rent is $280- $400 per week. You will usually have to sign a six month lease. For unfurnished premises a bond of four weeks rent is payable before you move in. Telephone, gas and electricity bonds are also required.

There is no housing COFA’s on Paddington campus.

COFA is within walking distance of 2 major train stations:

  • Central Station (20 min walk)
  • Museum Station (10 min walk)

Buses

Buses to COFA stop on Oxford Street (routes 380, 378, 352, 355, 333) and Flinders Street (routes 10, 373, 377, 392, 394, L94, 396, 397, 399)

Free Shuttle Buses

Ride the FREE shuttle bus between COFA and UNSW Kensington Campus. The Shuttle service runs from O-Week and throughout session, including examinations period. The Shuttle service does not operate during vacation periods.

Bus route – The COFA Shuttle bus picks up from inside Gate 8 High Street and drops off on Greens Road in front of the COFA Greens Rd entrance gate.
