Welcome to the New COFA.
We have great teaching staff, internationally respected degrees and a fabulous location in the heart of Sydney’s art, design and media district. So what’s new?
When the new campus is completed in 2013, we will be bigger, brighter and bolder than ever.
COFA’s New Campus
The new COFA faces Oxford street and boasts a purpose-built gallery and street-level café where students can mingle with art and design professionals.
We’ve also created a new central courtyard, state-of-the-art studio facilities, flexible student study zones and much, much more.
The New COFA features world-class studios for Art, Design and Media. COFA has the right facilities to help students create whatever they dream up, from graphic design, furniture or architectural models to jewellery, textiles and ceramics or painting, printmaking, sculpture and digital media
COFA’s newest creative space is ‘The Black Box’. This versatile studio can be a high definition projection room, a motion-capture studio or a test installation space for multi-media projects.
Flexible Study Zones
Students can bring their own laptops, plug-in and surf the web using COFA’s free Wi-Fi. Or get together with a group of friends and brainstorm for a collaborative project. The New COFA has 4 Learning Commons Zones, informal learning areas where students can set their own study agendas.
COFA’s New Gallery
Students at COFA have a major public gallery right on campus. COFA’s curators present a wide variety of world-class art, design and media exhibitions.
COFA students will get the chance to show off their own talents in the gallery during our graduate exhibition, the COFA ANNUAL.
COFA also boasts 3 additional galleries on campus!
COFA’s courtyard is the dynamic hub of the new campus. It’s a great place to relax, get some fresh air, soak up the sun and take a break between classes.
The gallery complex is home to a new gourmet café, which is also open to the public. (Coming soon)
For students in a hurry, COFA’s coffee cart in the courtyard offers tasty treats and great coffee to takeaway.
The Cornerhouse Café is just behind COFA. Run by the student association, Arc @ COFA, this street-wise local has a laidback outlook.
